Our
mission:
To
inspire, raise self-esteem, and nurture all talents of children
through self-expression in the art forms of Music and Theatre
The
Boiler
Room Theatre (BRT), Williamson County's professional
theatre, and
the
Act Too Players at Jan
Williams School of Music and Theatre
in Brentwood, offers a variety of opportunities for kids to get on
stage and in the spotlight!
Our program is grounded in the belief that theatre skills are
worthwhile, valuable life skills. For children
and teens, these camps and workshops open doors to the imagination
and
self-confidence while holding fast to the discipline and work ethic
that is crucial
for any craft.
Led by Nashville theatre professionals, your son or daughter will learn
from experts in the field. Not only does this
ensure a quality, educational experience for all involved, but provides
an invaluable opportunity for
those kids who are serious about
performing to learn first-hand what they can expect--and
what will be
expected of them--in a professional working environment later.
Best of all,
each class, camp and workshop always culminates in either a professional showcase or a fully-staged
production.
Act Too
Players has
produced You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, The Child in Me, Schoolhouse
Rock Live!, A
Little Princess, Alice in Wonderland, Oliver!, The Seussical, Fiddler
on the Roof, The Wiz, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoast,
and others at BRT--all to standing-room-only audiences!

MUSICAL THEATRE I & II
$72/month

This is the 1950s rock 'n' roll musical! Gum-chewing, hubcap-stealing, hot-rod-loving boys with D.A.'s and their wise-cracking girls in bobby sox and pedal pushers capture the look and sound of Rydell High School's Class of 1959 in a rollicking musical. While hip Danny Zuko and wholesome Sandy Dumbrowski resolve the problems of their mutual attraction, the gang sings and dances its way through such nostalgic scenes as the pajama party, the prom, the burger palace and the drive-in movie. Songs recall the Buddy Holly hiccups, the Little Richard yodels and the Elvis Presley wiggles that made the music of the 50’s a gas. (Show edited for age appropriateness)

MUSICAL THEATRE I

The chummiest of chums, Frog and Toad, are back. And they are having the best of times together. Flying through the air on sleds. Trying to do the same with kites. Telling dark-and-stormy-night stories. And, eating cookies, cookies, cookies… And don't forget their pal… well, he'll be here eventually, the one and slowly, Snail. They're all back. So you can enjoy every sweet and funny moment of this beloved musical. Come join the fun, and be a part of this beloved tale.
